Bird Board

Slate-throated Redstart

I'm pretty sure I saw three in my backyard in Davie this morning! I live just east of University Drive and a block north of Griffin Road. I checked their range which includes Mexico but not normally the U.S. Maybe all the hurricanes displaced them...

Lucy:

It's much more likely that the birds you saw were American Redstarts. For more information, see https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/American_Redstart/id

No, that's not what it looked like. There was no orange or yellow, and the body was gray with a darker head. I'll try to get a picture.

I look forward to seeing any photos you are able to take of these birds. Instructions for posting photos on the Bird Board can be found at http://www.tropicalaudubon.org/bird-board-faq
