May Movie & Music Nite @TropicalAudubon

Before following the birds north to escape our steamy subtropical summer, Birders of every feather are invited to roost at TAS for May Movie & Music Nite, an under-the-stars celebration of culture, history and America's #1 hobby — birding. Gates open at 7 p.m. Picnic Tables available on a first-come basis. On the Marquee: • Rising star Alt-Country songbird Edan Archer performs at 7:15. • "A Brief History of South Miami" documentary short (10 minutes) rolls at dusk, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Kathy & Carl Hersh. • Feature film #1: “BIRDING: The Central Park Effect” (61 minutes) — A diverse group of eccentric New Yorkers discover an extraordinary world of wild birds in Manhattan's very heart that magically transform their harried lives. • Feature film #2: “Rara Avis —John James Audubon and the Birds of America” (90 minutes) Costarring: •Latin Fixins Food Truck • Donation Bird Bar. Admission by Donation. Parking options: Limited on-site parking via the 55th Avenue entry gate; meter, garage and valet options within 1-3 blocks; Metro-rail service to South Miami Station.
